The road to Hampden continues

It was the last chance for the non-SPL sides to book a chance to take on one of the big guns in the Scottish Cup if they could progress through round 4.
There were a couple of notable results in the third round yesterday, withAberdeenbased Junior side Culter forcing a replay against First Division Partick Thistle.
The Division One side got off to the perfect start when Paul Cairney collected Thomas Stewart's pass to fire home from 20 yards. But the Junior side were not overawed and Ryan Stott levelled on 19 minutes to earn a replay at Firhill.
At New Broomfield Airdrie put the fact they had lost eleven goals in their last two League games behind them to blast eleven goals past Gala Fairydean.
A blitz of five goals in 15 first-half minutes set Airdrie United on their way with Jamie Stevenson and John Boyle each grabbing hat-tricks.
There will be one Junior side in the Fourth Round draw with Ayrshire’s Auchinleck Talbot seeing off Vale of Leithen to enter the big draw. Their Ayrshire neighbours Irvine Meadow weren’t as lucky as they were thumped 6-0 by First DiviosnLivingston.
The draw for the fourth round will take place at Hampden on Tuesday morning.
