As you were at the top of the SPL

The top three in the SPL won yesterday to leave things as you were at the top.

Rangers were first to get underway on Saturday when they travelled to Easter Rd for the early TV kick off game against Hibs.

The first half was a forgettable affair and it took a stupid penalty to give Rangers the lead. For some strange reason Hart decided to grab the arm of Wallace in his own box for what looked a clear penalty.

It was taken professionally by Jelavic, who also grabbed the second goal with header from a Wylde corner in another disaster for Hart who lost the Croatian in as the corner came in.

While not the best performance from the League leaders it was more about the three points during this crucial stage of the season when games come thick and fast.

Celtic were also made to work hard for their three points against a defensively minded Hearts side atCelticPark. It took until just under 20 minutes to go for them to break the dead lock when Wanyama hit a sensation 25 yarder to open his Celtic account.

There was penalty drama in this game as well, when Hearts were awarded a spot kick with only two minutes left when Wanyama was adjudged to have handled the ball. Jonsson took the kick only to be denied by a fine save from Forster diving to his left.

There was a minor scuffle at the end of the game between the boorish Scott Brown and Hearts Jamie Hammill who exchanged words and had to be separated by team mates before things got worse.

Third place Motherwell kept up their impressive away form with a 3-0 win over their closest rivals St. Johnstone. First half goals from Daley and Murphy set up the victory, and a deflected goal from Murphy in the second half sealed the points for the Steelmen.
