How do Killie change their squad as often??

Another transfer window and Kilmarnock are linked with at least four players coming in, how do they do it given the debt they have?

They have already brought in Dean Shiels after he had exited his contract at Doncaster and re-signed Ben Gordon on loan from Chelsea. They have also been linked with Michael Nelson of Scunthorpe and Derek Riordan formerly of Hibs.

Given they are £9.4 million in debt how have they managed to be relatively active in the transfer market when no one else seems capable of bringing anyone in (unless they sell someone, which is something Killie haven’t done).

They have quietly move two players out, with Ben Hutchinson moving to Mansfield and Swedish defender Billy Berntsson to Hammarby, which will have freed up a couple of wages. But on it’s own this will not be enough to have funded the move for the four players they have been linked with.

It would be fair to assume they are not paying much of the wages of Ben Gordon and will be getting him relatively cheaply. Shiels will more than likely getting paid the same as was during his loan spell from Doncaster and will therefore not really be an addition to the wage bill.

That means the two that have gone out may well have freed enough up to allow them to bring in Nelson and Riordan if they can convince them Rugby Park is the right place to be.

They certainly need to be bringing some quality in, as despite all the praise heaped upon them, they are sitting a disappointing 7^th in the table having won only 6 games this season.
