More trouble behind the scenes at Hibs

The Scottish Daily Mail reported this morning there had been serious trouble at the Hibs training ground yesterday, but a club statement today has denied that.

The paper reported this morning that striker Leigh Griffiths had head butted manager Pat Fenlon and then punched his assistant Billy Brown as he stormed off to the dressing room.

As often happens nowadays social media sources very quickly denied anything as serious as this has had happened, although it did appear there had been a heated argument, at least.

Then by lunchtime Hibs had released a statement where Pat Fenlon described it as “typical training ground stuff”, referring to the story as “rubbish in the press” going on to say “Leigh will be a key part of his team for the rest of the season.”

It is indeed amazing how this has gone fromGriffithsleaving Easter Rd this morning to only four hours later back as a key member of the squad again!

It also brought about the usual football thing where fans love to say on message boards how they have heard the players don’t like the methods used by Pat Fenlon but without revealing a source or backing it up.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Hibs on the relegation run in, will they be able to maintain their four point gap overDunfermlinewho only yesterday appointed Jim Jeffries as their new manager.

It will be an interesting few weeks ahead down Easter Rd way, as they are not only fighting to avoid the drop but also to end their Scottish Cup hoodoo with a semi coming up against Aberdeen next month.

Can Fenlon keep it all together, only time will tell.
