Celtic clinch title in style.

Celtic celebrate

Rugby Park turned into a mini Celtic Park as Celtic smashed six past Kilmarnock to seal the SPL title.

The home side were swept aside with ease thanks to four goals in the first half, thanks to a double from Charlie Mulgew and other goals from Gary Hooper and Glen Loovens.

They rounded the game off with two late goals to make it six nil, with the goals coming from Joe Ledley and a second for Gary Hooper. This sparked off tremendous celebrations as the hoops sealed their first League title in four years.

It also Neil Lennon tell us how big a deal it was for him, and he then compared himself to great Celtic Managers, including Jock Stein. While he may be up there with Wim Jansen, David Hay etc he is no Jock Stein, who won nine in a row, and of course, topped it off with the European Cup.

While you have to congratulate Celtic for their title win, it is hard to get carried away given their ailing rivals. Despite all that you have to recognise the old saying that you can only beat what is in front of you.

At the other end of the table Hibs moved another point close to safety with a home draw with Motherwell, while Dunfermline lost yet another home game when they lost to Hearts atEast EndPark.

This has opened up a seven point gap on the Pars and this should be enough to see Hibs survive for another season in the SPL, and allow them to focus on the Scottish cup this weekend.
