Rangers appeal thrown out by SFA Appellate

Late last night the SFA issued a statement telling us all that the Appellate Tribunal had upheld the original Rangers punishment of a fine and player signing embargo.

The three man appeals board decided the original decision was correct and that the Disciplinary Tribunal was within its right to fine the club £100000 and place a transfer embargo on them for 12 months.

The transfer embargo is an additional punishment but it was deemed appropriate given the “crimes” committed. By the looks of it this was send as a half way house punishment, as it was felt they could not have their membership of the SFA suspended.

The administrators, Duff and Phelps, then issued their own statement, as they appear to do at every opportunity! It states they would “challenge the determination” that they cannot sign any new players over 18 for the next 12 months.

I have also read Rangers fans on Twitter blaming the SFA for the decision, and suggesting Rangers players should pull out of theScotlandsquad and the club should move toEngland.

This seems to sum the whole thing up, they cannot seem to understand the club (owned and managed by Craig Whyte) has failed to pay not only PAYE, NIC and VAT but failed to pay clubs ticket money they were due.

This is pushed to the background, and the blame pushed on to the SFA and the other clubs who it would appear want to see Rangers die.

I for one think they are getting all they deserve and wish there could be a degree of humility from the administrators, fans and former players and an apology given to everyone for the wrongs they have done. But that is not in the Rangers psyche, as they continue with their mantra of “No one likes us we don’t care.”

Could someone please draw a line under this and let everyone in Scottish Football move on.
