The qualifying round draws for the Europa League and Champions League were made today and leave Celtic and St. Johnstone none the wiser who they might face.
The Champions League draw was made earlier. Celtic will meet one of the following TWENTY Teams in the 3rd Qualifying Round
I am not sure that many of these names will have them losing sleep but that is always a problem for Scottish sides!
In the Europa League 2nd qualifying round St Johnstone were drawn to face Turkish side Eskisehirspor but it would appear this could yet change. They coud yet face Besiktas or Bursaspor, as they have yet to have their appeals heard by CAS after being suspended for financial irregularities.
It is Saints' third time in European competition, where they enjoy an unbeaten home record, after a sixth-placed finish last season. ThePerthside's initial opponents qualified forEuropeafter also finishing sixth in last season's Turkish Superlig.
The first leg will be played on 19 July inTurkeywith the return leg on 26 July atMcDiarmidPark.
This seems to be the way with UEFA draws, they never seem to come up with any clarity and leave fans with travel problems, and the club with all sorts of logistical problems in trying to organise the ties.
