Clyde spot on again

Clyde FC have put out another statement today ahead of tomorrow’s SFL vote on Newco Rangers, based upon the proposals they have been sent by the SFL.

Once again they are finding it difficult to vote yes to resolution 1 or 2, given what they know about the newco Rangers. They have said today;

“We have received absolutely no information on the organisation Sevco Scotland Ltd whom we are being asked, and encouraged, to vote straight into the top division of the SFL under resolution 2 and possibly into SFL3 under Resolution 1.

“We have no business plan, list of directors, details of ownership, statement of capital adequacy or any proposals relating to the provision of any similar information in the near future. David Longmuir has clearly stated that he will distribute all the information he has got or is able to distribute.”

This is all very relevant for me, if I was to make up a football team and go to the SFL and ask for it to be submitted to SFL1 with no business plan, no evidence of working capital etc etc I would be laughed out of court.

In truth if this was anyone apart from the club formerly known as Rangers they wouldn’t even be considered for entry into the SFL at all!! So much for sporting integrity etc

Given they lost £4 million while being in administration from 14^th February, I am struggling to see how they are going to get through July. From the outside it looks as though they have no income this month, but still have the same fixed costs they have had since Feb, and the same background staff. The playing staff has been cut back but there are still some big earners.

It will therefore be interesting to see if the SFL Clubs will buckle under the pressure and vote Sevco into the SFL1. If not and they are accepted into SFL3 how long can they survive without cutting costs further.

We must finally be getting close to the end of the whole saga – hopefully!
