Rangers away days trouble continues

Rangers once again failed to win away from home in the third division, slumping to their first defeat in the division.

They lost to the team at the bottom of the table thanks to a goal from Brian Allison as early as the ninth minute. Rangers can have no excuses as they had a strong side out, with Ian Black and Dean Shiels back in the side after injury.

This has been called the worst defeat in the history of the club, depending on your stance it will be as their history only started in the summer. If you consider it is still the same Rangers it is definitely up there with the defeat to Berwick Rangers back in 1967.

Many Rangers fans were quick to point out how good they were when they defeated Mothewell in the League Cup a couple of weeks ago. This only proves the players, and the crowd, lifted themselves to make a point against an SPL side but are struggling to play wit the same intensity against their SFL counterparts.

This is an issue Ally McCoist will obviously have to address with his over paid players in the coming weeks, or they will find it difficult to get out of this division.

With the quality of player they have, and being full time, they should already be out of sight in this League but some sort of mental block is holding them back. When, as they surely will, they get it right they will move well clear but in the meantime it is entertaining for the rest of us!!
