Liverpool who face Leverkusen in Tonights 2nd Leg, go into the game 1-0 up thanks to a Sami Hyypia strike are only 90 minutes away from a possible Semi Final "battle of britain" Clash with United.
A win over Bayer Leverkusen in Germany will book the Anfield side's place in the last four.
And they will meet Sir Alex Ferguson's men if they see off Deportivo La Coruna at Old Trafford.
Gerrard told the club's official website: "We want to take over from United as the dominant force in England - and there would be no better way of doing it than beating them in the Champions League.
"I think if you spoke to most players, though, they would have preferred to meet United in the final itself."
First, however, Gerrard knows Liverpool have to be at their best to knock out Leverkusen.
He said: "We need to play better than we did in the first leg, but we are not scared of playing anyone.
"One of the reasons it wasn't such a great performance at Anfield was because the two sides cancelled each other out.
"Away from home we're strong on the counter attack.
"If we score first, I think the game will be as good as over."
