Liverpool and Norway defender Veggard Heggem faces a make or break season for the Anfield club, Heggem believes if he is not fit by the end of the season his career may be over.Heggem has spent the the last 2 years on the sidelines with hamstring problems admits he does not know where he will be playing his football when his current deal with the Anfield club expires at the end of the coming season.Speaking at Icons.com, he said: "This is going to be a very important season for me. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is going to be make or break as far as my career is concerned."I am under no illusions. If I am not fit by the end of the coming season then I won't get a contract anywhere, which would mean my football career would be over."If I can get fit and get into some kind of form then, if it's not Liverpool, perhaps somebody somewhere will give me a chance."I hope people appreciate or understand just how determined I have been to get fit, ever since I had the first problem with my hamstring. Just because I haven't been able to play for Liverpool over the last coupleof years does not mean I don't want to!"I have been training all through my summer break and I have been keeping in touch with the physios at Liverpool."I have just started doing some controlled sprinting and a bit of ball-work. I have been building my training up gradually in the hope that I will be able to take part in the majority of sessions with Liverpool."So far, touch wood, the rehabilitation has been going really well."I just hope
I can put my injury nightmare behind me once and for all."
