Anelka enjoying life after helping reds go top

French International Nicolas Anelka played a massive part as Liverpool went back to the top of the Premiership today.

Nicolas Anelka admitted he is enjoying life at Liverpool after helping the Reds to a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough which moves them to the top of the Premiership.

Anelka had a major hand in the first goal, eventually scored by Emile Heskey - following some trickery on the left wing.

John Arne Riise doubled the lead, although Gareth Southgate pulled one back with two minutes remaining.

Anelka told Sky Sports: "I'm happy to play for Liverpool and to play in England.

"I can walk like a normal person down the street and that's better for me."

On the game he continued: "They scored near the end and pushed to equalise - but in the end we won - and it's good for us. But it's not finished yet.

"We have to concentrate on the next game - but we want to win the league.

"We have put the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester United again."
