David O'Leary has confirmed that Darius Vassell is on his way out of Villa Park after the club accepted Manchester City's latest offer of £2.5m.

It is believed that Vassell is already discussing personal terms with City and he will soon undergo a medical at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The England international had a disappointing last season with Villa in which he made 21 appearances but only managed 3 goals. In recent seasons he has been plagued with a hamstring injury and due to this, he has slipped down David O'Leary's pecking order.
Speaking to Aston Villa's official website, O'Leary said, "He (Vassell) had a year left on his contract and we've been offered good money by Manchester City so it suits everybody all round."
