David O'Leary has ruled out the possibility of using Nobby Solano as a makeweight in the deal for Milan Baros. O'Leary moved quickly to deny any such deal after todays reports suggested that Liverpool are interested in the Villa winger.

The Villa boss did confirm that the Anfield club have made an enquiry about Aston Villa's Nolberto Solano but added that he will not be letting the Peruvian leave Villa Park.

Speaking to Aston Villa's official site, O'Leary said, "I admire Liverpool's taste, but Nobby is an important part of our plans and will not be going anywhere."

This speculation comes just weeks after Solano's agent held talks with Spanish side Atletico Madrid. Despite being told that Solano will leave Villa at the end of the season, O'Leary seems to determined to hold on to the club's player of the year.
