Aston Villa's reported bid of £6.5m for Milan Baros has finally been accepted by Liverpool. The Czech striker will undergo a medical at Villa's training ground tomorrow before signing a four-year contract.

Speaking to Aston Villa's official website, Operations Director Steve Stride said, "We've reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign the player and the next step is for him to have a medical. Hopefully we can soon conclude the deal."

Aston Villa's offer of £6.5m is not the highest bid that Liverpool have received for the striker. Last week French champions Lyon tabled a £8.5m bid for the player but Baros made it clear that he would prefer a move to Villa. The striker said, "Villa are a quality club, and I don't consider this a backward step at all."

Should the deal go through, Milan Baros will be Villa's first big-money signing of the summer. Despite bringing in four new players, O'Leary has only spent £3m so the £6.5 cash injection from Doug Ellis will undoubtedly be welcomed by all Villa fans.
