James Milner has revealed that he is relishing the chance to prove what he is capable of during his year-long loan spell at Villa Park.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Milner said, "Every footballer wants to play as many games as he can and I am no different.

"Villa are a great club with some great players as well, so it will be good to go there, get some games and hopefully help them.

"It's quite good really. I know quite a lot of the coaching staff and a few of the players, and Hughesie (Aaron Hughes), it is a great place to go - knowing a few people will help me as well."

James Milner joined Aston Villa from Newcastle on the final day of the transfer window as part of the Nolberto Solano deal. He will remain at Villa for the whole season before returning to Newcastle at the end of the current campaign.
