Aston Villa midfielder Gavin McCann will undergo keyhole surgery later today in a bid to discover the full extent of the knee injury he sustained against West Ham.

The midfielder limped off during Monday night's 4-0 defeat at Upton Park and there are concerns that the injury could be worse than initially expected.

McCann will definately miss tomorrow's match against Tottenham and he is also expected to miss at least another two weeks of the season in a bid to overcome the niggling injury.

David O'Leary confirmed, "The surgeon is going to undertake an arthroscopy to see what the problem is. As things stand he will be out for around two weeks. He is certainly a doubt for the Chelsea game."
