Aston Villa's early-season injury crisis has continued as they have been hit by the news that Lee Hendrie and Aaron Hughes will both be sidelined as a result of undergoing operations.
Aaron Hughes will be out of action for at least two weeks after having a hernia operation and Lee Hendrie will also be missing during that period as he has just undegone keyhole surgery on a knee injury.
Referring to the double blow, O'Leary said, "It's a blow because Hughes has been a good, solid player for us. But it's domething that needed doing. Lee will undergo keyhole surgery tomorrow and it's another blow for us, coming so quickly after losing Aaron Hughes. But these things happen and we just have to get on with it."
The injuries to Hendrie and Hughes have come at a bad time for The Villans. Laursen, McCann and Delaney are currently on the sidelines and Phillips, Berger, Mellberg, Bouma and Djemba have just returned from injury.
