Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has confirmed that he will look to extend Eirik Bakke's stay at the club until at least the end of the season.
The Norwegian international was signed from Leeds during the summer but his loan deal expires at the end of January. However, after reaching full fitness and impressing the Villa boss in a number of games already this season, O'Leary is hoping to hold on to the midfielder until the end of the current campaign.
O'Leary and Bakke worked together during the manager's time at Leeds and speaking about the Norwegian international earlier today he commented, "Do I want to extend the loan? We'll get to that in January but Eirik is coming up to speed now and getting fit. Yes, we'd probably like to keep him."
