Aston Villa midfielder Patrik Berger suffered yet another injury setback as he was forced limp out of training with a recurrence of his knee problem.

The Czech international has endured a nightmare start to his Villa career since joining from Portsmouth in the summer. The 32 year-old, who has only just returned from a knee operation, broke down in training and was forced to sit out the rest of the session.

David O'Leary, the Villa boss, refused to give any specific details of the injury. "Patrik was out there training but he had to stop," he commented. "He's been to see the surgeon because we don't want to take any chances and we will see what develops."
