Rangers Friendly Cancelled

Bolton's glamourous pre-season friendly with Glasgow Rangers has been cancelled after consultation with Greater Manchester Police.

The game was due to take place at the Reebok Stadium in seven days time but this has now been scrapped after the local police force raised concerns about the general safety of the public.

A statement issued by a Wanderers spokesperson on the clubs official website this afternoon reads:

"It is with deep regret that on the advice of Greater Manchester Police, this game has been cancelled on the grounds of safety.

"We understand the disappointment felt by supporters of both clubs and Bolton Wanderers, along with Greater Manchester Police, would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
