Anelka Wants Quick Resolution

Nicolas Anelka wants his future to be sorted out within the next ten days after confirming that three Premiership clubs want to bring him back to England.

The 27-year old striker is currently eighteen months into a spell with Turkish club Fenerbache but he states that Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers and the Wanderers are all keen to recruit him for the new season.

Anelka, who played for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City during a previous stint in Britain, wants to leave Turkey to rejoin the Premiership as it is a league that he feels can bring him success in domestic and European football.

"Portsmouth are the only club to have made an offer for me," Anelka confirmed yesterday following reports that the South Coast club had made a staggering £8.2 million bid.

"Fenerbahce would like to keep me, but they understand that I want to rejoin a major European league. My ambition would be to join a club that regularly plays in the Champions League, but I cannot force them to recruit me.

"If I had to join a club like Portsmouth, I would go there with the aim of giving my best. This is the same for Bolton or Blackburn, whose managers have also contacted me. I hope things will be sorted within 10 days.

Although often temperamental and considered moody, the Frenchman would be the type of top class striker that Sam Allardyce would like to bring to Bolton as his record in front of goal speaks for itself.

Meanwhile in other transfer news, the Wanderers are allegedly fighting it out with West Ham United in the race to sign former Real Madrid winger Victor Sanchez.

The Spanish international is a free agent having left Deportivo La Coruna at the end of the season but his agent and father has since confirmed that his son favours a move to the capital and UEFA Cup football.
