Boss confirms Italian interest, Ex-Liverpool midfielder wanted, Sam rues Prso snub and keepers go out on a trial basis. Read about it here in our daily round-up of todays latest Bolton news.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that the Wanderers are interested in securing the services of former Lecce defender Lorenzo Stovini. The 29-year old is a free agent having left the relegated Serie A side at the end of last season.

"Stovini is due in this week, Talks are on-going and I'm hopeful a deal can be concluded later this week. He is very experienced and should add more depth to the squad"

Another player also rumoured to be on the wanted list of Allardyce is Tottenham's former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy. It is beleived that Murphy favours a move back to the North West and a fee as little as £2 million could tempt him away from White Hart Lane.

One player who the Bolton manager Allardyce rues not signing is Rangers experienced forward Dado Prso. The former Croatian international played against the Trotters in a private friendly last week and the Wanderers cheif still bemoans the fact that he lost out to the Glasgow giants in signing the player from Monaco in 2004.

Two of Bolton's young goalkeepers are on the move. Chris Howarth has joined Oldham Athletic on trial with a view to a loan move whilst Sam Ashton is training with Rochdale after a recent stint on trial with non league Radcliffe Boro.
