Howarth Signs For Oldham

Bolton Wanderers reserve team goalkeeper Chris Howarth has made the move over to Lancashire neighbours Oldham Athletic for four weeks.

The 20-year old custodian is behind Jussi Jaaskelainen, Ian Walker and Ali Al-Habsi in the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium, so the short loan move to the Latics gives him a better chance of being involved in a first team environment.

Last season Howarth spent considerable time out on loan with Stockport County but was unable to force his way into their first team line up due to the form of James Spencer.

During his time with Oldham he will initially be providing cover for the experienced Australian Les Pogliacomi.
