Borgetti All Set For Saudi Move

Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad are on the verge of concluding a transfer which will bring Bolton striker Jared Borgetti to the Middle East.

Borgetti became the first Mexican to play in the English Premiership following a £1 million move from Pachuca a year ago but the move failed to work out for all concerned as the South American started only a handful of league matches.

The 32-year old was at his most prominent in the cup competitions and he found the target in the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and Carling Cup throughout the course of the 2005-2006 campaign.

Bolton's manager Sam Allardyce confirmed that a bid had been accepted for Borgetti who failed to travel with the rest of the Wanderers squad for this week's Spanish tour.

"We have accepted a bid from Saudi Arabia for Jared," confirmed Allardyce to bwfc.co.uk.

"Jared has not travelled to Spain with the squad and I am hopeful the deal will go through this week. It hasn't worked out for Jared at Bolton. He needs to find regular football to enhance his career prospects."
