Dutch giant Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is the latest in a long line of strikers to be linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers......

The Wanderers have made no secret of the fact that they are in the market for a new forward and manager Sam Allardyce has already confirmed that he will blow a large proportion of his summer transfer spending on a proven target man.

Names such as Javier Saviola, Nicolas Anelka and David Nugent have all been linked with a move to the Reebok Stadium in recent weeks and the latest name Hesselink recently took part in Holland's World Cup campaign earlier this summer.

Since bursting onto the scene with FC Twente ten years ago, Hesselink has managed to hit nearly 200 goals at club level and his form at PSV Eindhoven has attracted much attention in recent times.

His style is likely to suit Bolton as he plays a similar role to that of current Trotters striker Kevin Davies. Furthermore the fact that he has a clause in his contract whereby he can leave for just over £5 million will sure to be of interest to Allardyce who has craved for so long to bring a 15-goals a season forward to the Reebok.
