Contraversial front man Nicolas Anelka could be a Bolton Wanderers player within days according to the French newspaper L'Equipe..

The 27-year old has expressed a desire to quit Turkish club Fenerbache and return to the Premiership where he previously played for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Anelka is quoted as saying that a four year agreement is in place with the Trotters and a fee of up to £9 million has been mentioned for the player who first came to England as a teenager in 1997.

"My wish is to return to the Premier League and it could materialise soon,"

"I have an agreement with Bolton on the basis of a four-year contract, I hope everything will be finalised early next week."

Although the forward is prone to the occasional outburst, his scoring record in English football is good as he has netted 64 goals in 184 appearances for three different top flight teams.
