Chairman Phil Gartside has confirmed that the Wanderers have made an enquiry for Fulham's unsettled midfielder Steed Malbranque...

The 26-year old is currently out in the cold at Craven Cottage after refusing to sign a lucrative new contract and Bolton now join the likes of West Ham United and Everton in the race to sign the creative midfield ace.

Gartside confirmed that Trotters manager Sam Allardyce spoke to his Fulham counterpart Chris Coleman about Malbranque when the two sides contested a 1-1 draw in midweek but as yet nothing definate has been decided.

"I know Sam's asked about him," Gartside told Sky Sports News.

"He talked to Chris Coleman the other night when we were at Fulham.We always talk about people coming in and out, and I wouldn't rule anything out to be honest."

Malbranque joined Fulham from Lyon for £5 million in 2001 and has made over 200 appearances during his time in the capital.
