Wanderers Old Boy Linked With Shock Return

The Sky Sports website has linked Bolton Wanderers with a shock move for their former centre half Andy Todd who is now with Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers.

The 31-year old looks set to leave Ewood Park before the closure of the transfer window and the report claims that Wanderers, Portsmouth, Manchester City, Leeds United and Sunderland are all in the chase.

It is, however, a move that is highly unlikely to materialise from a Bolton point of view as the player was sold some seven years ago due to an infamous bust up with then cheif coach Phil Brown.

On his day Todd was a similar player to that of his father Colin (ex-Bolton manager) and one of his best spells with the club came towards the tail end of the 1997-1998 season when he formed an excellent partnership with his future Charlton Athletic collegue Mark Fish.

Todd has also played for Middlesbrough, Swindon Town, Grimsby Town and Burnley over the last decade or so.
