Reserves Tackle United

Bolton Wanderers reserves will be hoping to record two wins in succession as they take on Manchester United at the County Ground later this evening.

Two weeks ago Republic of Ireland youth international Matthew Cassidy scored the only goal of the game as Wanderers defeated United in the Lancashire Senior Cup and coach Jimmy Phillips will be overjoyed if his young side can produce a similar result in this league clash.

Midfielder Robert Sissons is the only player who has had any extensive experience with the first team squad as Phillips hands a first full reserve team start to first year scholar Robert Lainton in goal.

Liberian-born David Gbemie also gets another chance to impress at second string level after breaking through into the reckoning over the last couple of reserve games.

England schoolboy star Temitope Obadeyi is in the hosts squad for the first time after Bolton agreed on a deal of up to £1 million with Championship side Coventry City.
