Bolton reserves continued their miserable start to the season last night as they went down 2-0 to their Middlesbrough counterparts.

Striker Danny Graham and midfielder Jason Kennedy scored the all important goals to send Boro to the top of the table and condemn Wanderers to their fourth straight defeat.

Polish goalkeeper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak was quick to come to Bolton's rescue in the opening moments of the game when saving well from Graeme Owens powerful low drive.

At the other end of the field Bolton winger Leslie Thompson produced a shot of similar menace but his effort went inches wide of the target much to the releif of Ross Turnbull in the Middlesbrough goal.

In the 17th minute Boro forced themselves into the lead through Kennedy who curled a sublime shot around Kazimierczak from the edge of the box after a good spell of possession.

Graham then had the first of two good chances, the first of which was saved well by the Wanderers keeper, and the second from an Owens corner which was firmly headed into the net to give Boro a 2-0 advantage.

James Morrison and Graham again caused Wanderers problems in the second half but neither could add to the scoreline as Bolton travelled back to Lancashire to lick their wounds.

Next week Bolton are back in Manchester Senior Cup action as they take on Stockport County at Edgeley Park.
