Kevin Nolan scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Bolton Wanderers reserves recorded their first league win of the season last night
The Bolton skipper struck early in the second half against local rivals Wigan Athletic at the Robin Park Arena to give the much senior second string their first maximum points since last April.
One downside for the Wanderers was that defender Jarostaw Fojut was dismissed in the closing stages for a second bookable offence but the likes of Ali Al-Habsi, Nicky Hunt, Idan Tal and Ricardo Vaz-Te got in some much needed match practise.
Wigan themselves also included some familiar names with players such as John Filan, David Wright, Andreas Johansson, Matt Jackson and Svetoslav Todorov all appearing in the game at some stage.
Bolton Wanderers Reserves: Ali Al-Habsi, Nicky Hunt (Matthew Cassidy), Jarostaw Fojut, Blazej Augustyn, Scott Jamieson, Andranik Teymourian, David Gbemie, Idan Tal (Chris Basham), Kevin Nolan (Leslie Thompson), Johann Smith, Ricardo Vaz Te
