Bolton Open New Quiet Room

Bolton Wanderers have become one of the first football clubs in the country to offer their staff and supporters a place to practice their religious beleifs.

The Reebok Stadium will now house a quiet room within its West Stand and this will enable people to go and pray or take a few momemts of reflection on matchdays and non-matchdays.

Reverand Phil Mason, the official Bolton Wanderers chaplain, came up with the idea as part of the recent Unity & Diversity scheme which encourages people of all faiths to bond together.

Mr Mason told the official Bolton Wanderers website that the new venture would further help to strengthen the different cultural links that exist within the town itself.

"The creation of a quiet room is one way in which we can ensure the needs of all our staff and supporters are met. We are delighted we have been able to provide this facility and greatly appreciate the hard work put in by all those whose vision and determination turned the initial proposal for the room into reality.

"The quiet room project is the first of many initiatives we hope to implement over the coming months. Indeed, the Club will shortly appoint a Community Cohesion Officer, who will work with the very successful Football in the Community Team helping the Club to strengthen links and engage more fully with the many religious and culturally diverse communities of Bolton."
