Sammy Commited To Bolton

Sammy Lee has pledged his future to Bolton Wanderers despite guiding the England U21 team to a 1-0 victory against Holland last night.

Lee was in charge of the young Three Lions side for one game only due to the fact that current coach Peter Taylor had more pressing commitments at club level with Crystal Palace.

The Football Association are keen to appoint a full time U21 coach in the near future and Lee stated that the job would be a very attractive proposition. However the former Liverpool midfielder is keen to point out that his number one priority is with the Wanderers.

"I need it to be stressed, I am perfectly happy at Bolton, I've pledged my future to the club. I was stepping in at Peter's request and the FA came along and asked me to fulfil that request. It was a great privilege to do that."

Lee also paid tribute to Bolton manager Sam Allardyce for allowing him the opportunity to go and work with the England set up again.

"I've got a manager who is second to none who has allowed me to do this. There was talk in the summer, but they've said it's one game and it's not a problem. We've got a job to do at Bolton, all I can say it was a privilege and a really enjoyable experience."

The 47-year old will be back in the Bolton dugout for their Premiership clash with Everton at the weekend.
