Bolton hope to get last weekend's disappointing result against Sheffield United out of their system as they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Wanderers lead by two clear goals at Bramall Lane and looked on course to net another away win before allowing Rob Hulse and Colin Kazim-Richards the chance to bring the Blades back into the game.

Sam Allardyce will be keen for no more slip ups as the Whites make the short journey to Merseyside to take on a team who they convincingly defeated by a 4-0 scoreline last December.

Everton have lost their last two games on home soil each by a singular goal as veteran striker Chris Sutton gave Aston Villa the points last weekend with a trademark header.

Allardyce has no new injury worries for the game as Ricardo Gardner, Joey O'Brien and Quinton Fortune remain on the sidelines. Youngster Ricardo Vaz-Te picked up a knock whilst on duty with the Portugal U21 team but he is expected to travel with the rest of the squad.

Everton have a lengthy injury list as Tim Cahill (knee ligaments), Alessandro Pistone (achillies) and Patrick Boyle (fractured back) are all receiving treatment for long term injuries. Winger Andy Van Der Meyde and right back Tony Hibbert are also out of contention until the end of the month

Gary Naysmith, Richard Wright and Nuno Valente are doubtful but former Bolton captain Alan Stubbs should resume his place in the heart of the Merseysiders defence.

Ex-Evertonians Gary Speed and Idan Tal will be keen to play from the start for the Wanderers

Referee Steven Lodge failed to spot a clear Bolton goal by Gerry Taggart in the first ever game at the Reebok Stadium in September 1997.

England icon Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne scored his one and only Everton goal against the Wanderers in November 2001

Ex-Everton captain Gary Speed scored from the penalty spot for Bolton when these two sides last met just under a year ago. The Wanderers won the game by a 4-0 scoreline and up until late September this remained their last win on the road.
