The Academy's hopes of winning the FA Youth Cup are dashed for another season as they failed to beat Sunderland yesterday evening.

A last minute header from midfielder Robert Sissons came too little, too late for the Wanderers as Jack Colback and Jordan Henderson put the Black Cats two goals to the good in the first half.

Colback's goal came from the spot after Bolton defender Matthew Cassidy was deemed to have fouled David Dowson en-route to goal. Cassidy was dismissed in the incident leaving Wanderers at a massive disadvantage for the whole of the second half.

In first half stoppage time Henderson doubled Sunderland's advantage with an unstoppable volley which left Bolton keeper Robert Lainton totally helpless.
