Doumbe Trains With Wanderers

Rennes defender Jean Joel Perrier-Doumbe will spend the next few days training with Bolton Wanderers after recently completing a similar spell with Scottish giants Celtic.

The 28-year old is a full international with Cameroon and was strongly linked with a move to Middlesbrough at the tail end of last year but injury prevented the move from taking place.

Doumbe's agent is the infamous Willie McKay, the man responsible for bringing players such as Florent Laville and Pierre-Yves Andre to the Wanderers attention in years gone by, and he says the full back will weigh up his options over the coming days.

"Doumbe is over at Bolton for the next few days training with them, Sam Allardyce is keen to have a look at him before he makes any decision on him." said McKay to Sky Sports earlier today

"Doumbe did well at Celtic last week and they are still mulling over whether or not to make a move for him. Doumbe is now keeping his options open and he will go and see what is on offer at Bolton."

Doumbe joined Rennes from Auxerre in the summer of 2004 and is equally versatile as a right full back or centre half, a position which Wanderers need to strengthen when they eventually lose contract rebel Tal Ben-Haim.
