St Etienne right back Fousenni Diawara could be set for a switch to the Premiership with Bolton Wanderers according to his agent..

The Mali international is looking to leave his current club due to a lack of opportunities and has spent some time training with the Wanderers at Euxton recently.

Diawara's agent Franck Belhasen is hoping that his client can thrash out a move to the UEFA Cup hopefuls before the closure of the transfer window next Wednesday evening.

"We have just arrived and haven't yet started the negotiations, I will be able to tell you more tonight" Belhasen confirmed to reporters from Sky Sports.

It is not the first time that the French-born defender has been at Bolton as in the summer of 2003 he was taken on trial and played in a goalless friendly with Spanish side Real Mallorca.
