Bolton reserves climbed up to fourth in the FA Premier Reserve league table following a hard fought 1-0 win over local rivals Blackburn Rovers last night.

Midfielder Nathan Wolfe scored the only goal of the game with a superb second half effort from distance which left the Rovers Welsh international goalkeeper Jason Brown beaten all ends up.

The goal was the very least the Wanderers performance deserved as they exterted a lot of pressure on their near neighbours for the majority of the second half with goalkeeper Przemyslaw Kazmierzak doing well to keep out one or two efforts at the other end.

Tom Brooks and German striker Kevin Wolze went close for Bolton in the first half but it was a smart reflex save from Kazmierzak which stopped Bryan Hodge from giving Blackburn a certain lead.

Bolton's Polish keeper was just as alert in the early part of the second half when denying midfielder Ryan Woods and the much travelled former England international Francis Jeffers.

England youth striker Temitope Obadeyi came off the bench for the hosts late on but he missed the chance which would have given Bolton the second goal to kill the game off.
