New Recruits Have Potential

Lubomir Michalik and Zoltan Harsanyi have what it takes to succeed at Bolton Wanderers, according to the man who sold them prior to next weeks transfer deadline.

The Slovakian pair move to England from FC Senec, with central defender Michalik signing a three and a half year contract and striker Harsanyi coming on loan until the end of the season.

Dr Josef Valovic currently coaches Senec and he beleives that the young pair have extreme ability and could make an impact in English football in the time that lies ahead.

"The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, and Lubomir and Zoltan have the potential to become very good players for Bolton Wanderers." said Valovic to the Bolton official website

"A lot of young players in Slovakia aspire to play in England and these two players have now been given a good opportunity to impress." added the former Czechoslovakia U21 coach

Michalik and Harsanyi are not the first Slovak players to ply their trade in Britain as Szilard Nemeth spent a few years on the fringes of the Middlesbrough team and Lubo Moravcik was a big favourite at Scottish giants Celtic for a number of seasons.

Stanislav Varga, a former Bolton target, has also been playing in the United Kingdom for almost seven years having had two spells with Sunderland and stints with Celtic and West Brom.
