Philliskirk To Carry On Family Tradition

The name Philliskirk is prominent in the recent history of Bolton Wanderers and teenager Danny Philliskirk is hoping to continue a family tradition.

The 16-year old Oldham Athletic academy player is on the verge of joining Wanderers for a £50,000 fee, nearly 18-years after his father Tony first joined the Trotters from Preston North End.

Philliskirk senior went on to top the Wanderers scoring charts for three consecutive seasons in the early nineties and helped Bolton to the 1991 Division Three play off final at Wembley Stadium, before eventually losing out to Tranmere Rovers.

Junior Philliskirk has been under the watchful eye of his father at Boundary Park and is also a striker, so Wanderers will hope that he is just as prolific in front of goal.
