Bolton In Hunt For Scottish Star

Bolton first team coach Ricky Sbragia has confirmed that Hibernian midfielder Scott Brown could be a possible target for the Wanderers this summer.

Brown put on a lively showing for Scotland in their international game against World Cup winners Italy in midweek and Sbragia says the 21-year old has what it takes to succeed in the English Premiership.

"I don't think there is any doubt Scott Brown is capable of playing in the Premiership. It all comes down to money at the end of the day and what kind of player we decide we need.

"What I would say is, you don't like someone to sign for someone else when you've not taken a serious look at them yourselves." commented Sbragia when asked about his countryman.

Ironically, Bolton had made an approach for Brown's former Hibs team mate Kevin Thomson earlier in the season but he has since made the move to SPL giants Glasgow Rangers.

Rangers and Celtic are expected to rival Bolton in the chase to snap up Brown who first broke into the Hibernian team as a teenager back in the 2002-2003 season and has remained a regular ever since.

In the last transfer deadline Brown withdrew a transfer request but it seems as if he is likely to leave Easter Road behind sooner rather than later.
