Sam Welcomes Davies Return

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce beleives that the return of fit again striker Kevin Davies could rescue Bolton's season and rekindle their UEFA Cup hopes.

Davies returned from a five week injury lay off in the defeat against Manchester United two weeks ago and Allardyce beleives the physical presence of the 30-year old will help boost his teams performances going into the last eight matches of the season.

Speaking to the official Bolton website Allardyce says Davies gives the team a new dimension and feels he will help give the squad the rough edge that they have missed in recent weeks.

"Kevin gives us another dimension in his strength and power against defenders. We have gone a little soft in the way we have played recently and there is nobody tougher to upset the opposition defence." said Allardyce prior to the visit of Sheffield United tommorow.

Allardyce seems likely to play a three man attack against the Blades which will include Davies and his fellow strikers Nicolas Anelka and El-Hadji Diouf, both of whom showed no signs of injury themselves following the international games in midweek.
