Everton Preview

The Wanderers hope to finish the Easter weekend with a flourish as they take on fellow European chasers Everton at the Reebok Stadium tommorow.

Yesterday the Trotters came from a goal behind to comfortably defeat local rivals Wigan Athletic by three goals to one and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is hoping that his side can do just as well when coming up against the Toffees.

Everton themselves have also had a good start to the holiday programme after managing to defeat Fulham heavily at Goodison Park on Good Friday so the game at the Reebok tommorow is poised to be a classic six pointer in every sense.

Earlier in the season a fantastic strike from midfielder Mikel Arteta gave the Merseysiders a slender 1-0 win over the Wanderers but there is very little to choose when looking at the results between these two teams over the last few years.

Bolton may welcome back Ivan Campo after the Spaniard missed the last two games through suspension but fellow midfielder Kevin Nolan still has one more game to serve of his ban.

Wing back Ricardo Gardner may also be recalled from the bench to replace Tal Ben-Haim who picked up a knock in the Wigan game. Quinton Fortune and Joey O'Brien are definately out however.

Ex-Liverpool winger David Thompson is also carrying a knock but he is hopeful of facing the side he once supported during his youth after starting the game on Easter Saturday.

Everton have Tim Cahill (foot), Richard Wright (knee) and Patrick Boyle (back) ruled out for the rest of the season and both Lee Carsley (head) and Victor Anichebe (ankle) are doubtful for the short trip across the North West.

IT HAPPENED WHEN BOLTON PLAYED EVERTON

Referee Steven Lodge failed to spot a clear Bolton goal by Gerry Taggart in the first ever game at the Reebok Stadium in September 1997.

England icon Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne scored his one and only Everton goal against the Wanderers in November 2001

Ex-Everton captain Gary Speed scored from the penalty spot for Bolton when these two sides last met just under a year ago. The Wanderers won the game by a 4-0 scoreline and up until late September this remained their last win on the road.
