Goals from Stelios Giannakopoulos and Cesar Martin extended Bolton Wanderers reserves winning streak as they defeated title rivals Manchester City by a 2-0 scoreline at the Sport City Arena earlier this evening.

Former Deportivo La Coruna centre half Martin headed Bolton into the lead after seven minutes and Giannakopoulos followed with the winner just after the half hour mark when converting from close range.

Wanderers had a number of experienced names on show for this game including midfielders Kevin Nolan and David Thompson and this eventually showed as Bolton now overtake City in the FA Premier Reserve League table.

This result means Bolton have now won their fifth consecutive game and lie just a point behind current leaders Manchester United. Middlesbrough remain in second place having recorded a far superior goal difference but Bolton's second string can be proud of their season so far.
