The Championship winning Bolton reserve team are in action later this afternoon as they travel to Stainton Park to take on local rivals Bury in the Manchester Senior Cup.

Last week Jimmy Phillips side sealed their first reserve championship in twelve years by beating Newcastle United and today's game at Radcliffe Borough could be their seventh straight victory.

The fixture against the Shakers will bring down the curtain on a fine season for the Bolton second string and players from the title winning side such as Jaroslaw Fojut, Blazej Augustyn, Scott Jamieson, Johann Smith and James Sinclair have all had experience with the first team.

Sinclair became the latest graduate to make the step up to the seniors when appearing as a second half substitute in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea last weekend and it is predicted that many of this squad will get their chance in the coming years.

England youth international striker Temitope Obadeyi scored twice in the reserve match against Newcastle and he gets another chance to shine by partnering Kevin Wolze up front.

Bury include Bolton-born players Aaron Grundy, Nicky Adams and Dale Stephens in their squad and there are also starts for first team players such as Tom Kennedy, John Fitzgerald and Richie Baker.

Former Burnley youngster Jack Overson, son of the former Burnley, Stoke City and Birmingham City centre half Vince Overson, starts alongside Fitzgerald at the heart of the Bury defence.

Stafford Rangers striker Guy Madjo and Rochdale midfielder Theo Coleman also get a chance to impress for Bury's second string.
