Kevin Nolan and Kevin Davies must wonder what they have to do to gain international recognition after the Bolton Wanderers duo where snubbed for a forthcoming England B get together which is due to take place at Burnley's Turf Moor ground at the end of this month.
National boss Steve McClaren has named a side which doesn't look too unfamiliar from his normal squads, with only Reading full back Nicky Shorey, Joleon Lescott of Everton, Sheffield United's Phil Jagielka and Blackburn midfielder David Bentley as the uncapped players in the squad.
Davies and Nolan have both been regular names on the Bolton team sheet for the past few seasons and have previously won honours at U21 level earlier in their careers.
However, it looks as if McClaren is reluctant to venture to the Reebok Stadium to see how the pair are progressing. At least the same cannot be said for his predassessor Sven Goran Eriksson who did at least take note of the performances of Nolan and Michael Ricketts during his five year reign with the England team.
