Allardyce Gets Magpies Job

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has been appointed as Glenn Roeder's successor at Newcastle United just two weeks after quitting the Reebok Stadium claiming he needed a break from football.

Allardyce will be officially unveiled at a press conference at St James Park this afternoon and will try to succeed in the job where so many have failed down the years.

Famous names such as Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Ruud Gullitt, Sir Bobby Robson, Graeme Souness and Roeder could not bring silverware to Tyneside but the Toon Army hope Allardyce will go on to go one better.
