Ex-Wanderer Slams Long Ball Tactics

Former Wanderers midfielder Claus Jensen is set to quit Premiership rivals Fulham this summer after disagreeing with the long ball tactics used by the Cottagers newly appointed manager Lawrie Sanchez.

Sanchez was caretaker manager at Craven Cottage for the last few games of the 2006-2007 season following the departure of Chris Coleman in April and Jensen says the tactics of the ex-Northern Ireland and Wycombe boss do not suit his own personal style.

The 30-year old is a free agent this summer and he has previously been linked with a move back to his homeland. However, his injury record whilst at Fulham may dissuade some clubs from taking him on their books.

"I didn't see a future for me at the club. The way Lawrie Sanchez wants to play doesn't appeal, The long-ball game has been pretty much what we've been doing and that isn't my kind of football." said Jensen when asked about his future

Between 1998 and 2000, Jensen made just under 100 appearances for the Wanderers prior to making a £4 million switch to Charlton Athletic where he was also a hit.
