Cisse And Chalme On Wanderers Wanted List?

Bolton Wanderers could be about to offer Liverpool's flambouyant striker Djibril Cisse a Premiership lifeline according to a number of todays media reports .

The 25-year old has just completed a year out on loan at French club Olympique Marseille and the tabloids have stated that a similar move to Bolton could be in the pipeline.

Cisse joined Liverpool from Auxerre for a club record £14.1 million in July 2004 and he helped the Reds to the Champions League final in 2005 and FA Cup final a year later.

However the French international suffered badly with injuries during his time at Anfield and had the misfortune to suffer two broken legs prior to falling out of favour with Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

If the reports prove to have some substance then Cisse could be joined at Bolton by Lille right back Matheiu Chalme after the player confirmed to Eurosport that the Wanderers had been tracking him.

Chalme 26, wants to leave Lille and play in the UEFA Cup and he says that the Trotters are just one of a number of clubs keen on signing him ahead of the new season.

"I am in contact with Ligue 1 players who will play in the UEFA Cup and other teams have asked about me, including Bolton who have been tracking me for a number of weeks," Chalme said.

"Compared to players like [Auxerre's] Bakary Sagna, who is under contract for a couple of years, I have the advantage of being free next season. It helps to receive offers.

"I would have liked to talk to the coach or the directors before the end of the season. I would have loved them to make the first step. They didn't, it isn't a problem.

"If I have to come back to training [with Lille] at the end of June, I will do it, smiling. I want to experience something else. Everybody at Lille knows it, if I have an interesting proposition, I will leave."

Bolton manager Sammy Lee is busy working hard behind the scenes trying to recruit new talent and he has taken in a number of games since the Premiership season ended three weeks ago.
